For the best results (it eliminates stutter) use the D3D overrider tool bundled with Rivatuner. Force Vsync and Triple Buffering with that and you will get rid of the stutter, activate triple buffering and have Vsync all in one. Try to force VSync for Minecraft from the NVIDIA control Panel. Right Click on desktop>>NVIDIA Control Panel>>Manage 3D settings>>Program settings Select your game from the list and then select NVIDIA as the preferred graphics processor. Then select VSYNC and turn it on, and save the changes.

I don't have Minecraft, but if V-sync, or using a frame limiter do not help, it's probably the game. Being the JAVA .ed may be. a contributing factor as well. - I have a few games that don't respond to V-sync. A 120+ Hz monitor is a big plus with these games.

It could just be locking to 60 if your FPS is under 120, and if that's the case, forcing tripple buffering in the NVCP would fix it. Doom has a simlar issue, it's in-game vsync was a bit weird.

I can only explain Nvidia's version so I will: 1 12/01/2020 On 1.12 it just doesn't work. I have it set so I can sync to constructors on death, and I even had a storage with a sync. It's 2017 and we still don't have proper frame limiting options in PC games. This is what VSync does, and I’m aware of that. Because of that I disabled VSync and instantly frame rate goes up to around 110 FPS which is fine on my machine in full-screen mode.
